The Butlers Release 'Full Noise'
Christchurch musos, The Butlers have released Full Noise, a light hearted, playful ode to… well, bending? It’s an unabashed tale of debauchery, littered with humour and some pretty outrageous lyrics;
Cmon McGeezy let’s just smoke a duzz /ride on your jokers/ anything for a buzz
Full Noise is well timed for achy, boozy summer mornings, maybe as a wee pick-up, maybe to get back on the grog if you’re so inclined. It’s easy on the ears featuring some lush saxophone parts, washy guitars and a floaty, poppy chorus. It’s a tidy marriage of psych, reggae and surf-rock.
The song comes off their Frederick’s Friends E.P, out... bam, tomorrow. The E.P centres around ‘Freddy’, a Sumner local, and all his mates. Sumner is Christchurch’s go-to surf spot, kinda shitty, but kinda fun looking for a log. Hello Zukeen looks forward to meeting this Freddy chap.
The Butlers have been at it for a few years now. They’ve been making the rounds in Christchurch, establishing themselves as the cities go-to student band and as Full Noise suggests, a pretty good time. I can’t say I’ve seen them live, but I did have the pleasure of surfing with them a few months ago on the Otago peninsula. They are some fine bastards indeed.
So check out Full Noise, get frisky for Frederick’s Friends and if you’re getting weird at RNV on the 29th, go check them out.
